1 · Company & Business Snapshot

The entity is Zhuhai Gree Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. (wholly-owned subsidiary of Gree Electric, founded 2015). Business spans four pillars: CNC machine tools, industrial robots, smart logistics & warehousing, and turnkey factory-automation. Manufacturing bases are in Zhuhai (Sanxi Smart Industrial Park — RMB 1.08B investment, 172,000 m²) and Wuhan.

2 · Core Strengths (six pillars)

1 · Full-stack self-development — among the highest自给 rate of Chinese makers

Gree follows a "build it from the components up" route. The original motivation (per Chairwoman Dong Mingzhu): precision air-conditioner-compressor parts processing was heavily dependent on imported German machines. Official position today: linear motors, spindles, servo motors & drives, CNC systems, tool magazines and rotary tables are self-developed, giving Gree the full chain "parts → machine → workstation cell" and enabling turnkey factory solutions.

For comparison: Kede CNC's self-supply rate is ~85% (among the highest in China); Haitian Precision and Creator rely far more on integration.

2 · High-speed direct-drive + twin five-axis — a peak already endorsed internationally

4 · Price + delivery + service — the standard Chinese-maker playbook, executed thoroughly

5 · Gree is its own most demanding user — the appliance line feeds back

Gree machines run deep in Gree's own plants (precision AC impellers, fan blades). Two hidden advantages follow: (1) real high-tempo mass-production validation, not just lab parameters; (2) humanoid-robot joint curves and AC-compressor impellers are both wavy complex surfaces, so process know-how transfers directly. Gree's self-developed precision oil/water chillers (±0.1 °C) can be linked to machines to suppress thermal drift — a "machine + thermal control" package.

6 · Whole-line delivery — the machine is not a standalone pitch

Machine + industrial robots (GR35/GR50 six-axis, GRS10/GRS20 SCARA, GRH6 arc-welding, 600 kg heavy-payload) + smart warehousing + automation lines can be delivered together as a "lights-out factory". SCARA repeatability ±0.01 mm, speed +15% vs industry average. A differentiated value for customers upgrading a whole line at once.

3 · International / Overseas Presence

DimensionPublic information
Market entrySince 2022; products have entered North-American and European high-end markets; deliveries to North-American plants of global top-100 auto-parts firms (serving a German premium OEM's supply chain).
CustomersMajor EV, automotive and electronics OEMs (named in Chinese media, not independently confirmed) partly unverified
External supply ratioGree Malaysia (English official site) states "external supply ratio of more than 75%"; NEV parts equipment ≈70% of CNC output.
International awards2023 iENA Nuremberg silver (GA-FM3020); 2025 50th Geneva Invention Expo gold. Gree Electric cumulative: 28 international invention-expo golds, 48 "internationally leading" technologies.
Trade showsHannover/Munich (Germany), CIMT, CCMT, Hefei, Canton Fair (twin-beam gantry won a design-innovation award).
ComplianceFor Europe: oil-mist recovery and energy-saving spindle motors meeting EU CE efficiency; converted into orders in Germany and Italy.
The bigger overseas backdrop. Per the German Machine Tool Builders' Association (VDW), in 2025 China's machine-tool exports overtook Germany for the first time — 21.6% global share vs Germany's 16.7%; China +18%, Germany −10%. China's output is ~32% of the world's. VDW chairman Franz-Xaver Bernhard: "We read all of China's five-year plans; for 20 years the machine tool has been among the most important topics." A German component supplier told Yicai that Chinese machines have risen from low-end to "meeting ~90% of market needs," with cost and lead time making European makers anxious.
Gree is one of the "cross-over dark horses" named by overseas media in this wave — but note: this is an industry-level tailwind, not exactly Gree's individual brand power.

What the overseas web actually shows

Searches across English and third-party sources return three usable layers and one clear gap:

4 · Objective Limitations & Risks (important)

4.1 · The business is very small — the single biggest constraint

Company2025 revenueYoYNote
Creator (300083)¥5.32B+15.5%CNC ¥5.16B; domestic shipment leader
Qinchuan (000837)¥4.09B3 yrs of non-recurring losses
Shenyang (000410)¥3.74Bpost-restructuring, focuses on 5-axis
Haitian Precision (601882)¥3.37B+0.5%gantry leader, ROE 15.4%, overseas ¥560M (+50%)
Kede CNC (688305)¥552M−8.9%5-axis GM ~40%; 58% of new aero orders
Gree Intelligent Equipment (segment)¥681M+60.5%Incl. machines+robots+logistics+automation; only 0.40% of Gree Electric revenue

In other words: Gree's entire intelligent-equipment segment is on par with Kede CNC (a specialist 5-axis firm); the pure CNC business is smaller still. The +60.5% growth is the fastest of any Gree segment and management calls it a strategic track — but in scale, channel coverage and installed base it is an order of magnitude behind the leaders. National dealer recruitment only starting in 2026 confirms the channel is nascent.

4.2 · "100% self-developed" vs reality

Multiple outlets quote Gree's "100% independent R&D" for core parts. But contemporaneous reporting also admits: high-end precision bearings and ultra-high-precision scales remain heavily import-dependent, exceeding 40% of machine cost; Gree invested RMB 2B in a "core-components park" aiming for 70% key-part self-sufficiency by 2026.

Hard evidence: the early flagship GA-F500 used a HEIDENHAIN CNC system + NSK (Japan) hollow-cooled ball screw + European linear guideways + European spindle. The GA-MV856 shown at CCMT 2026 still lists "imported ball screw and roller linear guide".

Read it in two layers: Gree's self-development is genuinely high on the "motion-execution chain" (linear motors, spindles, tables, servo) but still at the industry-common dependency level on "measurement & transmission base parts" (scales, high-precision screws/guides, precision bearings).

4.3 · Industry-common gaps that Gree can't escape

4.4 · Scenario concentration + brand perception

5 · Competitive Positioning

VersusGree's edgeGree's gap
Global giants
DMG MORI / Mazak / Makino
Price 40–60%; shorter lead time (1 mo vs 3–6); strong NEV customization; fast local service; longer warranty. Ultra-precision & long-term reliability, accuracy retention; century-old brand moat; aero/defence certification; weaker CNC-system ecosystem vs FANUC/Siemens.
Domestic generalists
Haitian / Creator
Higher core-part self-supply; stronger 5-axis & direct-drive; deeper NEV customization; parent's capital & quality system. Revenue an order of magnitude smaller; far thinner general-model scale & dealer network; weaker low/mid coverage; smaller installed base & reputation.
Domestic 5-axis specialists
Kede CNC
Stronger high-speed direct-drive & large gantry; leads in NEV die-casting; faster cost & delivery; whole-line automation. Thinner aero/defence certification & customer base; Kede's deeper in-house CNC-system layer (85%+ self-supply, supplies AECC/COMAC).

For external use: lead with the three solid pillars — full-stack self-development + scenario solutions + Geneva gold. The most persuasive hard numbers are GA-UHD500's 0.004 / 0.002 mm and the twin-five-axis gantry's 120 m/min. Avoid unverified figures such as "32% global share" unless separately validated.

7 · Guidance by Use Case

If you are a buyer: Gree is worth a shortlist for NEV structural parts, battery trays, long aluminium profiles, 3C cosmetic parts and humanoid-robot joints — especially when price and lead time matter. But insist on a real test-cut + a long-cycle (≥6-month) accuracy re-inspection clause, and pin down the brand/source and spare-lead-time of scales, screws and other key parts. For aero/semiconductor high-certification scenarios, prefer Kede CNC.

If you are an investor: intelligent equipment is Gree's fastest-growing segment (+60.5%), but at ¥681M it is financially negligible against Gree Electric's ~¥170B revenue — a "story", not a "pillar", for now. Watch: can the 70% self-sufficiency target land in 2026, will general models scale after dealers come online, and can Gree break out of the single NEV track.

If you are preparing external materials: lead with "full-stack self-development + scenario solutions + Geneva gold"; cite GA-UHD500 (0.004/0.002 mm) and the 120 m/min twin-five-axis gantry. Drop unverified market-share claims.
